國泰大阪-香港商務艙(Cathay Pacific Business Class: Osaka-Hong Kong)

在去程介紹過國泰的新區域型商務艙後,這次回程體驗的是舊的區域型商務艙。

After reviewing Cathay Pacific's new regional business class in my previous report, I'll review the old regional business class for this leg.

國泰的報到櫃台位於關西機場國際線大廳的北側,當然頭等、商務艙以及會員有優先報到櫃台,也完全不需要排隊等待。

Cathay Pacific's check-in counters were located at the North side of Kansai Airport's international hall. It goes without saying that First & Business Class passengers and elite members have their own dedicated lines, and there was absolutely no wait at all.

快速通過安檢跟出境之後,就來到國泰的簽約貴賓室 Lounge Pacific。因為關西機場的設施跟免稅店實在是乏善可陳,所以還是趕快躲進貴賓室休息吧。

I went through security and immigration in no time, and headed straight to the Lounge Pacific, which was the contract lounge for Cathay Pacific, since to be honest there wasn't that much to do in the public areas of Kansai Airport.

沒想到貴賓室裡面更是陽春。不僅座位區狹小又擁擠,連食物選擇也是少到可憐,只有非常簡單的輕食跟飲料。因為人實在太多太擠,所以也沒有辦法拍照,只能拍一張食物的照片。

Unfortunately the lounge was just as spartan as the rest of the airport. The seating area was small and crowded, and the food selection was pathetically small. Only a couple of finger snacks and drinks were available. I did not take any pictures of the lounge since there were way to many people inside. So only had this picture of the food.

還好距離登機時間也沒有很久,早早出發到登機門準備吧!

So I decided to wait at the gate area, and thankfully I didn't have to wait too long for boarding to be announced.

今晚的商務艙是全滿,在 777-200 的 2-3-2 配置下,其實感覺有些擁擠。比較像是特選經濟艙而非商務艙。

It was a full load in business class that night, and since the 777-200 had a 2-3-2 layout in business class, it actually felt quite cramped. It was more like sitting in Premium Economy instead of Business.

既然都是舊型的商務艙了,座位老舊其實是意料之中的事。但其實座椅本身很軟很舒服,其實舒適度上並不輸新型的商務艙。

The seats looked quite dated but were surprisingly comfortable and well-padded. I'd say they were just as comfortable as the new business class product, if not more so.

但其他細節就不禁讓人搖頭了,例如這些舊到已經沒人在用的連接埠。

Sadly I cannot say the same about the rest of the seat. Just take a look at these outdated connecting ports,

還有座位下方超大超佔空間的娛樂系統機盒。

...the gigantic IFE box under the seat,

以及舊到已經難以操作的座位控制器。

, and the ridiculously dated seat controls that were hardly functional anymore.

最慘的就是這個娛樂系統了,除了目錄之外,其他頁面都無法使用!根本只是用來佔空間的...

The most pathetic part? The IFE. I could not use any part of it except getting to the menu page. Really, it had to use except taking up some much needed legroom.

就連耳機也是充滿了經濟艙的感覺。

Even the headphones made me wonder if I was in Economy.

這時空服送上了香檳,彷彿是在提醒客人自己沒走錯,真的是在商務艙。另外也逐一送上菜單。

The flight attendants came by and offered some champagne shortly after everyone was seated, as if they were reminding us that we were indeed in business class. Menus were also distributed.

這趟航程算是第一次體驗到國泰商務艙的完整餐食服務,讓人有些期待。

It was the first time I get to experience a full meal service in Cathay Pacific Business Class, so I was quite looking forward to it.

因為航程不長,商務艙又是全滿,空服員們幾乎是在安全帶警示燈熄滅之後就立刻開始送餐了,首先是前菜、沙拉跟蕎麥麵。

Since we had a full cabin and a relatively short flight, meal service started almost immediately after the seatbelt signs went off, beginning with the appetizer, salad, and soba noodles.

主餐一樣是由空服直接推出來讓乘客選擇。我選了牛排,再次印證飛機上實在是不適合吃牛排這件事,因為太容易弄到過熟了!不過其實味道還不差,雖然已經熱到全熟但沒有完全乾掉,算是勉強合格。

As usual, the flight attendants would roll out all the main options for passengers to choose directly. I selected the steak, which was another lesson that one should never order steak on a plane. They just get overcooked so easily! Though to be honest my steak wasn't that bad, it was already well done but not completely dry, so was in fact quite acceptable.

餐後首先出現的是起司與水果,一樣是用餐車服務,讓旅客可以自由選擇搭配。

Then it was followed by cheese and fruit, which was done by cart as well so everyone had the chance to mix and match whatever they like.

再來還有 Haagen-Dazs 冰淇淋,有兩種口味可以選擇。

Haagen-Dazs ice creams were offered for dessert, with two flavors to choose from.

最後再送上咖啡跟茶。按照慣例當然要來一杯港式奶茶。

Finally there's the coffee and tea service. As usual, I had a very nice cup of Hong Kong Milk Tea.

既然沒有辦法看電影,餐後大部份的旅客也只能睡覺休息。未來只要有選擇的話,我會盡量避免搭乘舊型商務艙的。

Since the IFE was practically nonfunctional, all of us had no choice but to sleep for the rest of the journey. I'd avoid taking the old business class product if I have the choice in the future.
